1999 C70 crooked key
1999 C70 crooked key
I had to buy a replacement key from the dealer. I looked at the key and it is crooked. I am wondering if the key is the reason the air, radio, lights, and the cigarette lighter stopped working and the SRS light came on. This is based on the ignition switch needing to be fixed. I may not be explain this correctly and I hope someone understands what I am trying to say.

There are two parts to the ignition switch..the mechanical lock part, and the electrical part. On high mileage cars, the electrical part is a common failure

As long as the key turns in the lock, being crooked is not a factor.
But like abscate says, the electrical contact block on the back of
the ignition switch is a common point of failure on these cars as
they age. Fortunately, the replacement is cheap and easy.
