1994 850 top cylinder head- open hole?

Post by phat78ta »

Getting ready to put the cams back in, and I came across this hole (circled). It's isn't the pcv, that is off to the left. All the pics I can find online show it being open. What is it, and can I plug it? I goes into the same area of the head that the pcv does.

It was a part of the real early PCV system that was even wackier than the present one. They changed the PCV system but they never changed the casting on the cam cover. Nothing goes there but you can tap the holes and make a cover plate if you want to.
