Considering buying a 2000 XC70 !!! Any ETM/Tranny advice?

We test drove a low mileage (35k) 2000 XC70 last night at a Volvo dealer. My wife and i really loved it and are ready to make an offer.

I was un/happy to find this Forum and learn about the ETM/Tranny issue. The car was shuddering just slightly, but seemed okay at accleration and at low speeds up hill and at Idle......

Any advice on how to guess if the car might encounter the tranny issue?

It shudders stopped at idle, or underway? If it's while standing still, probably needs an upper motor mount but with that kind of miliage, it shouldn't run rough. Got a service history? Sounds like this thing lived a life of short trips & I'd be looking at the oil changes & the PCV service...sounds like it could use plugs/service - watch for sludge, my big peeve. If it shudders on the road, could be a planetary shaft - check the tire sizes - in that case, run away.
