98 V70 Info Switch Remove

How does one take out the INFO switch, the one to the right of the steering wheel in the row with the sunroof and defrost switch? From the back? Pry out? Which I attempted but didn't want to force. My info display goes "DISC" once in a while and the slightest touch to the info switch brings it back. I want to try a clean/replace of the switch first.

It pries out but it goes easier if you remove the lower dash panel and reach up to give it a push from behind. I haven't checked lately but IPD had a set of "Bone tools" that were a hard plastic that doesn't mar the dash like a screwdriver does. Every time I go to remove a switch I am reminded that I need to buy them.

I picked up some bone tools at HF for like 5 bucks. Looking on ebay at the switch, it looks like prying from the side is the way to go although removing the lower dash panel is probably what I'll do. I want to eyeball the climate control fan thing too anyway. Thanks.

Mine does the same thing. Post the results of your digging; I may need to add this to my infinite list of small "to-do" tasks.
