98 V70 FWD Interchange manual

Anyone have access to an part interchange manual. Just took part # our P9169210 and am putting in 34010753. These are steering racks and want to be sure they'll no unforseen issues. Thanks

I only have an old copy of VADIS at the cabin this weekend but I don't show either number as being correct. VADIS doesn't show either number as being a legitimate part number.

What VADIS shows is 8601672 being substituted for 8251372-2 with no further description. It also shows part number 8251372 being for a V70 through chassis number 549830 and part number 9461264 being for a V70 beyond chassis number 549831.

Strange. Both numbers were displayed on the OEM parts. In google.com with the part# and Volvo in the search field i get hits for a steering rack. Up close...They look almost identical. The four mounting bolts are definitely different. The one removed has groved bolts that lock in place, the replacement OEM reman from Jorgansens does not. I trust the source (Jorgansens) but wanted extra piece of mind before I'm up-to my neck in alligators... again.

There were two manufacturers, TRW and someone else, and the rebuild kits are different between the brands for sure but I think the racks were functional equivalents. I could be wrong so it does warrant further investigation.
