Hey guys, I'm replacing a Bad water pump on my 2002 S80 2.9 Auto. I understand the procedure, I do have one concern. Before removing the belt etc I need to align the marks on the cam gears. IE Exhaust at 2 o'Clock, Intake at 10 o'Clock based on the marks on the belt cover. My issue is Both my Cams only have one small mark each and both marks point to the same position. If I align the intake to the mark on the belt cover, The exhaust mark is in the exact same position. The car has never thrown any codes and I have driven it fine for almost a year before the WP failed. Right now i"m stuck on this project as I do not want to screw up my timing. I have attached pictures with White marks on both cams to show the positioning. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Isaac

take a look at the post on page 5 about changing the cam seals on a 99 S80 turbo. the poster showed a picture of his cam with timing cover installed. It looked to me that his cams were aligning to 12 o'clock position. If I knew how to put that thread in here I would.
let us know what you think. I having been working up the gumption to change my cam seal and have been rather shy of doing this job.

Thats a damn good post. I bookmarked it for reference. I guess tomorrow I'll set both points at the top and work from there. Thanks for the info.
