First I'll explain my symptoms. Cold/Hot Air works perfectly on the driver side but cannot be adjusted on the passenger side, it blows on the warmer side.
I just got my Volvo back from the dealership and they attempted to recalibrate the AC damper and said that the damper arm was stuck and in order to fix they would need to replace the entire climate box which requires removing the dash and the job runs around $3200.
This may fix the problem but indeed seems like overkill for the problem I'm experiencing. It could be the damper motor, or some debris that is stuck not allowing the damper arm to move. Whatever the case may be if I could just manually move this damper so that the airflow is symmetric, blowing the same temperature on both sides I would be satisfied. I don't necessarily need the ability to independently control each side.
Could someone be so kind to provide me with some guidance and/or photos on where this "damper" is and how it can be accessed? This may also sound a bit out there but could I reach the damper through the vents?
Any amount of advice would be greatly appreciated.
