97 850 awd immobilizer/awd going off!

Post by skibumben »

Hi,

I am in the proccess of trying a buy a 97 awd wagon (apparently quite rare), the car has been sitting without a battery as it supposedly needs a head gasket. when i connect a battery, and turn the key to the on position, the alarm goes crazy and the car wont start.

Is there a way to shutoff/override the alarm? i have a key, but no FOB.

Ben

If that doesn't work for some reason you can bypass the alarm relay. Remove relay 210/211 and then, on the 210 side of the relay socket, install a jumper wire between the socket positions associated with pins 50E and 50F on the relay.
