My radio randomly went off while I was driving down the road, so I checked the fuse and it was blown. I tried to replace it but when I got a new fuse close to the slot for the fuse it made a big spark, so I discounted the battery replaced the fuse and the radio worked fine for about 5 min. then went out after I went over a speed bump. I am tiring to trace the wire to find the short does anyone have any ideas what this might be other than a short?
Thanks

A short somewhere is pretty much it. Are there any aftermarket electronics installed on the car?
Stuff like navigation systems and remote starters usually tap the radio battery line and the aftermarket installers are notorious for splicing wires and then just wrapping them with electrical tape. Finding stuff like that is usually pretty easy and fairly easy to properly repair.

Doesn't mean than no one has ever gotten into the wiring.
I'd suggest that you pop the radio out and take a look around.
BTW - If you haven't got the radio's code, don't unplug it.
