I'm running Wally World store brand Dexron III in my 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon. I'm also running an IPD overdrive bypass plate.

What ever OEM specs say to look for on transmission oil. Transmissions are designed for specific oils; use the wrong one, and trouble may happen.

If a transmission has been recently overhauled, and the kit used was updated for a later generation oil, then is OK to use an upgraded oil.

For instance, "Dex VI's different additives actually attack the rubber in the older transmissions and hardens the rubber prematurely over time."

Just look for Dexron II D / III compatibility on the label, its that simple.
