2000 v70r Is there a check valve on fuel pump???
Volvo technician a dealer is telling me there is no check fuel valve on a 2000 v70r all wheel drive, to stop fuel for running back to tank, on the fuel pump assembly. He says it's part of the fuel pressure regulator or on my year and model car because of the all-wheel-drive. However multiple other people are telling me there is a check valve on the pump assembly. My pump assembly is under warranty and I'm having trouble with the car taking a long time to start, but then it runs great. This is not heat related and doesn't matter how long they let the car sit related. Just trying to really determine does the 2000 V70r all-wheel-drive have any type of fuel check valve on the pump assembly line?

The check valve is on the pump itself, not the fuel line unless it has been added due to a bad check valve on the pump.

Just install an in line aftermarket check valve if long cranking is your symptom
Done all the time on 99s and 2000s.

The tech is confused. There is a check valve in all the volvo fuel pumps back to the CI mechanical system and even before on the D Jetronic on 140's and 164's.
The pressure regulator relocate was for the reasons I posted in the other post. If he goes back and finds his 2000 New Car Features training info (if he has been a tech that long) or he reads design and function in VIDA (Diagnostics/Network/click on ECM/Design and Function is part of the reference info that populates the list) he will find the information. As I stated the FPR is fitted into a fixture that is a T fitting where the FPR dumps fuel out of the fuel line to hold the pressure to the regulated pressure. The released fuel goes to the ejector pump in the LH side fuel tank to move the fuel out of the low area once fuel level is below the hump in the middle of the tank to clear the driveshaft. The FPR does act to stop flow of fuel back to tank through the line to ejector pump once fuel pump is switched off.
