S60 Gear shift sticks in Park

The gearshift sometimes sticks in park on my 2002 S60 (auto transmission). (foot is squarely on brake)
Has anyone had similar problem and know the fix?

I assume there is no mechanical override like on the 240s and the 940s and other earlier Volvos.

Sorry to bother everybody. The problem was that someone spilt coffee into the consol. It was acting like glue after the car sat overnight. A little silicon spray freed it up nicely.
