New 02 v70 owner, has tranny question.

Post by crackerkorean »

I just purchased a 02' and when putting into drive it takes a second for the transmission to catch before I can acutally move forward.

If i put it in drive and give it gas itl rev as if it was in neutral. Is this normal?

Thanks for any help.

I'm not that familiar with the newer 5 speed transmissions, but I know from reading previous posts that Volvo used to program the transmissions to shift into neutral when stopped in drive. This led to hesitation when accelerating from a stop. There is a software change the dealer can install to keep the transmission from shifting into neutral at a stop. Not sure if this is your problem or not, but it sounds like a possability.
