'01 V70 key fob problem

As of a week ago, both mine and my husbands lock and unlock buttons have stopped working on the key fobs (keyless remotes). The replacement key fobs are eight months old (Volvo doesn't have a warranty for them). The batteries have been replaced... but still nothing.

Volvo wants their hourly service rate to take a look at the problem, however they were gracious enough to test the key fobs and said there was nothing wrong with them.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The lock and unlock mechanism on these Volvo's are strange animals. Try locking and unlocking your car from the inside (without FOB's) a few times and then see if they work from the outside. someone posted about the same or similar problem earlier, but I can't recall where it was.
