1998 V70 Where do Tonneau covers attach

Where are the Tonneau covers supposed to attach once they are fully pulled out? I picked up a set for my V70 the other day. They work fine. Withdraw and retract. I just dont know where to attach them once they are pulled out? Thanks

Assuming you have the 2 holes to mount either side just behind the rear seats, the part other end that pulls out should have a mounting area just inside the rear tailgate. If you open the tailgate, on either side there are 3 pieces of trim that meet halfway up the opening. On the upper part there is a cut out that if they have not been used before, have a little plastic plug in them. Pull these out on both sides and the cover pins on each end slide in there. If your car did not come with a toneau originally, I'm not sure if they are there. Most of the cars in the auto wreckers I have visited (850 and V70) have had these, and from memory, even the ones without the front toneau holes had these anyway.

As I was trying to cure the PIA squeaking from the tailgate area of my wagon today, I took the camera along to show you where the cargo/load cover goes at the rear:
