Homemade Intake Options/Problems (/w PICS!)

Post by pawn256 »

'99 S70 GLT, 106k miles.

I want to modify my air intake.

Because of the price of a cone filter, I think I'll stick with the stock airbox and just buy a K&N filter. However, I would also like to allow (or force) more air to get to the filter. I would like to leave the stock intake pipe from the grille and just build another one coming from under the bumper. The major problem is getting around that damn battery, any ideas?

What do you guys think?
...damn battery :P

Thanks for any/all the input you can give me!

Looks like there's enough room to go under/around the battery. This guy did, and started it in a nice spot next to the fog lamp, in front of the radiator:
