2000 v70 Heater Core

Summer project time.

My carpet has coolant on it so I plan on changing the heater core.

Any advice or tips? Are the ones for sale on ebay at $40 ok?

My car is non-turbo.

As long as you get the one from Swedish Car Parts w/ the lifetime warranty. I purchased one, just haven't had the time to install it.

If you get the Swedish Car Parts one, make sure to run it through the dishwasher -- maybe even twice. Mine had some really nasty cutting oil residue on it and 6 mos. after installation still stinks far worse that the typical maple syrup smell of coolant.

There is a biz opp there - buy 10, wash them, and sell them for 20 bucks more as the low-odour version

I have used the one from Swedish auto parts and it has worked well in many different cars. But yes there is a smell the emanates from the heater core for a period of time and will go away eventually. But other then that, no complaints.
