2000 V70R - AWD fuel system help needed

Post by scot850 »

I am continuing with the write-up of the routing of all the emissions and fuel pipes on and around the fuel tank.

I need help identifying 4 parts and their purpose.

1) The 'larger' BLACK tank at the top of the picture below. I believe this is termed the 'Expansion tank' and is connected by pipes to the top of the fuel tank. The pipe from the bottom that runs to the middle of the rear of the join between the 2 tank halves (the RED tagged line in the middle of the picture) and it has a 'T' that runs to an electrical valve mounted just below the emissions canister front. The pipe from the top runs to the top of the RH front corner of the fuel tank.
2) The smaller BLACK cube shaped tank in front of it as viewed on the photo below. It connects with one pipe from the emissions canister to its top and a pipe from the bottom of the tank runs to the top of the LH rear of the LH side top of the fuel tank.
3) The name of the electrical valve under the emissions canister in the second picture. The RED tag at the center left as viewed on the pipe that comes from expansion tank.
Expansion tanks?

Valve below emissions canister
4) Correct name and purpose of the silver valve in the LH lower of the picture. Part number too if someone knows it! It 'T's' into the emissions pipe from the front of the vehicle from the 'open' end, and the other end connects to the LH fuel pump.

Thanks in advance,

Neil.

I think I may have the answer for Q4. I believe it is actually called the fuel pressure regulator part # 9146761. From Tasca web-site:

http://www.tascaparts.com/volvo/v70/914 ... -regulator

I think the answer to Q3 may be the Evap pressure sensor part # 9155870. What is it's purpose and does anyone know if it is a reliable part? Again an expensive part $200 US from Tasca. Again, if it is reliable then I'd rather leave, but if it does fail, again it requires dropping the rear sub-frame to access it to replace.
