2015 xc60 How to Buy a New One For Life

Post by ORshepherd »

Hi.
You guys must be sick of this question...but it's burning a hole in my pocket so I must ask it...

Whenever it's time to get a new car I think Volvo first. I grew up in them; they suit me. But I am soon daunted by the idea that either it will bombproof or a nightmare.

I have been looking at the xc60. I show dogs, which means I need crate space and a car that won't leave me stranded in rural Eastern WA.

What are my odds of getting a well tempered workhorse? Add in obsessive maintennance with a good Volvo mechanic.

thanks for your thoughts should you share them...

I have a job that takes me to Volvo dealers and in contact with Volvo technicians. The xc60 and the other models that share the vehicle architecture with it are scaring the techs. These do not need service and do not break much at all. I know several people with these models that have over 100,000 miles and are getting good service from them.

Thanks jimmy57.....when you say "vehicle architecture" what are you including in that category? If the 60 is too small I may have to ramp up to the 90....albeit a 2014.... maybe the wagon....

I have a Sienna van that just lost it's transmission at only 45k...funny...now I don't have to buy Toyotas anymore! Luckily I have the warranty so I have time to look around.
