2005 S80 HU-650 Radio Acting Up

Hi Everyone,
I seem to have a strange problem with my 2005 S80's radio, after using the steering wheel controls or the knob on the radio to select a station the radio flashes SEARCH and the sound cuts out for around 5-7 seconds then the selected radio station comes back on. Is there anyway to stop this from happening? It never happens when manually using the arrows on the radio and is quite disruptive when driving especially between states where I'll change the radio often.
