Stay away from MotoRad oil cap and coolant surge tank cap

Post by tryingbe »

Stay away from MotoRad oil cap and coolant surge cap. MotorRad oil cap leaks right out of the box and the coolant cap does not last long either.

Cap on left is new, cap on right is less than 1 month old. Plastic is deformed, coolant leaked from the cap area.

You're been warned.

Thanks for heads up!! Will move to the parts forum with a connecting flight in the P2 Forum so that others can see.

My parts supplier sells Stant radiator cap for these cars. The cap is made in Germany, not sure if anyone has any experience with them but they are supposed to be good. They look just like the OEM green one.

I went with the OEM surge tank from Volvo (old one leaked) but I still have my grey OEM cap, 200,000km and no issues.
