I have a 1990 740 GL and I just had the compressor replaced and the freon upgraded (sorry for the un-technical language, I'm a bit of an auto idiot.) The AC worked beautifully after the work. After this I had my car shipped across country and when I got it here the AC blew fine but the air wasn't cold at all, no matter how long I ran it. The work is under warranty, but unfortunately my volvo mechanic is 3000 miles away. I called him and he told me to check the fuses. (Coincidentally the lights behind the dashboard had blown a couple weeks prior which I though might be a fuse issue...) I opened up the fuse compartment and tried to discern which fuse was which, and even looked at one that I think was for the AC and I had no idea how to tell if it was functional or not. What are the signs? Also does anybody know for sure which fuse number is for the AC?
Any help would be appreciated... New York summer is approaching and it gets hot!
How can I tell if the fuses are blown?

Fuse for Air Cond is # 9 and is a 15 amp fuse. It also controls turns signals, seat belt warning, power windows and others. Also check # 7 which is a 25 amp fuse. You should have a fuse map glued to the back of your ashtray. Also check manual.
If blown you will see the u shape fuse link actually broken and burnt. Replace it with an exact amp type.
I doubt this is your problem as you would have noticed other things not working. Your problem of no cold air is the same as my car and I haven't figure it out yet. See my previous posting of May 2.
Good luck
