Stalling and burning oil :(

Hello! Really could use some wise words or just some really great advice. I just paid off my v70 98 Volvo and am really just thinking about calling it quits at this point. I don't even know where to start. She's at 150k miles and is having issues with burning oil and stalling out. Let's start with burning oil-

I just filled the oil tank pretty much to the top 2 days ago and now she's a quarter low. Mind you this was THICK oil. I don't notice any blue smoke. No check engine light. Nothing. Is this normal? What could be causing this issue?

Now to start with the stalling- it's only at low speeds. Recently the distributor was replaced which I thought made a difference up until 2 days later of driving her. She's doing the same damn thing. Stalling out and even shutting off at low speeds. It seems like the idle is finicky when I come to a stop light on city roads. Going from 900-500. However, when I gas, and it happens, it seems like it's empty and it's nothing but air that's going through which is not letting her 'GO' like she's suppose too. Is it a fuel relay pump issue? Idle sensor issue? Or an electrical issue? When the car dies the radio is still on so I am assuming this isn't electrical.

Hmmm. If you filled the crankcase to the top, that will cause a lot of smoke.

You don't fill the crankcase above the top line on the dip stick. Don't drive the car until we get this right.

Your 1998 needs an occasional visit for new distributor cap, rotor and spark plugs every 3 years or so.

Is the drivers side of the engine wet with oil? Especially around the distributor?? These cars can develop a leak in the seal behind the distributor, that might cover both parts of your issue, leak and gets oil in the distributor, causing it to run crappy. Like abscate mentions, proper description of the problem, and troubleshooting steps will help you get your car diagnosed more quickly.

So, is your V70 a turbo? (more hoses to check), is your coolant getting mucky? lots of knowledge here for the taking.
