98 v70 NA Ultra Gauge question

I am thinking about buying an ultra gauge to monitor Coolant temperature, battery voltage average MPG and instantaneous MPG and I have a question for anyone who owns one since I can't find the answer on their website.

Is the ultra gauge able to give MPG (average and instant) information without entry of any data each time I fill up at the gas station. For example, I don't want to have to enter number of gallons put in the tank, etc. since for me its not worth the trouble each time I fill up.

Does anyone know?

I have an 'Ultra gauge' set up in my 2002 V40.
It is great for monitoring the coolant temperature along with many other data criteria that you can setup to display as you desire.
They will monitor miles/gallon and litres/100km or both simultaneously if one desires and in average or instantaneous as rspi has already confirmed.
I am very happy with mine and they are good value for money in my opinion.

Torque (app on Android) can also give you instant and average consumption without letting the app know how full the tank is.

However it won't tell you distance to empty unless it can assess the fuel level.

My ultra-gauge arrived today. It looks like it will blend well in the interior. I spliced in a second OBD II connector into the wire harness and the second connector resides under the console. I plan to mount the gauge to the right of the steering wheel just below the idiot lights on the dash and to the left of the rear windshield heater switch. I'll run the wire between the steering wheel and the dashboard where the black flexible rubber strip is, behind the dash and into the console. It should end up with only about 2-3 inches of exposed wire.

The set up instructions are a bit much to absorb in a few minutes. I decided to wait for the weekend to do the setup/install.

Mine is fixed directly on top of the steering column, centrally and in front of the main dash instruments.
It is positioned to ensure the speedometer,rpm gauge and the fuel and temp' gauges are not obscurred.
The cable runs down between the dash and steering column just as you have described above and then fully concealed to connection to the OBDII connector located on the side of the central console.
(this is a right hand drive vehicle)
As Ultra Gauges read fault codes anyway I did not bother with the provision of a 2nd OBDII connecting point and its simple to pull the plug if one needs to connect to a separate code reader anyway.
Hope you get good use from your new gauge anyway.

Can I see some pictures and what gauge you guys purchased? I am very interested in this gauge. I was think that I need to purchase a boost PSI gauge and then I see this little gem for 69$ WOW!!! I want to install a manual boost controller but know better that to do so with out the gauge. Can 69$ be right?

I have a 850 2.4 liter with a 15g turbo, will this work on my car too? A good boost gauge alone cost 69$

One more thing, I don't see were it measures oil pressure? Or what they call proprietary gauges

I'll post some pictures when/if I get it installed. There are some pictures of it on the ultra-gauge website. I looked up the measurements on the website and made a cardboard cut out to get an idea of the size and where it would fit well.

I ran into a problem that I didn't think would actually be a problem. I added a second obd II receptacle by tee-ing off the existing wires. It works fine as long as you unplug it when you use the other receptacle. The problem is that the second receptacle is buried in the console so I'll have to remove a bunch parts to get to it and I don't want to do that each year for emissions testing, so I have to come up with another plan. My first thought is to install a continuity switch in the power hot wire. ...not sure which one that is.
