I replaced my coolant level sensor and at the same time installed a used bottle / tank I pulled out at a salvage yard. After replacing sensor I had no change in the tank reading.... reading low when full. I took off the tank and cleaned it out making sure float was moving.... reinstalled no change in reading......
When I push the float down the light goes off , as it returns to top light comes on....
I flipped the float over no change. When the sensor is not plugged in the light is on ..
Any tips? Thanks Left a message with FCP on the new sensor.

Too strange! The lamp on without the sensor unplugged is correct so that tells me that everything downstream from the switch is working as it should. My guess is a bad sensor but it is weird that you replaced it. Was the old sensor doing the same thing? If not I would say you just got a bad sensor.

bought new tank on amazon, no magnet in float, just put a magnet on the sensor so light would stay off.
Just read some s40 did not have sensor at all, maybe your tank is like mine?
