Hi Again All!
Well, I still have a list of things to do on my mechanical list, but in the meantime I have a couple of minor concerns. For the first one I will offer my own proposed cause, the other I need some feedback/advice from the volvo collective here.
First: I have fixed the solenoids on the valve body, that undoubtedly fixed my rough as guts shifting. However, when I engage drive at a standstill, i get a double thump. Its not harsh, loud or a bang, but it is definitely "bumping" twice. So from N or P to D it goes ---->Engage, then 1/2 a second later "bump". This only just started happening and it has been a few thousand km's since I did the original repair work.
If I accelerate when it first engages before the secondary bump, then it moves off the line, so it is definitely engaging drive with no problem at all.
Could this be caused by a worn upper engine mount? (the one that attaches to the top cross/sway bar) - as I know that this is worn and needs replacement. And possibly, the engine mounts on the side (the front bottom one is A'Ok)
Second Issue: When I accelerate at WOT, the car changes at approximately 6,000RPM. Normally it drops to about 4500 or so and then repeats until i get off the gas.
However, I have noticed that when the car changes gear it seems to lag for a second before getting full power again.
It feels like the turbo is lagging or scrambling to catch-up when the gears change. This is NOT how the car normally accelerates/performs.
I don't normally experience this "lag" under WOT. Its not harsh, rough or anything like that, its like it slows its breath for a second then resumes its normal power delivery.
I ran VIDA and didn't get any codes, so am a little stumped as to what this could be. Air temp outside is cool, does this on freeway on/and off ramps (up and down hill)
Could it be a vacuum line or something has come lose. I can't see anything obvious.
Thanks again for your advice/responses.

When transmission shifts, it asks engine to limit torque for the duration of shift. You likely still have delayed shift problem. New/refurb solenoids fix about 90% of all valve body problems, you may be in the remaining 10%.

To clarify, I did the solenoids a few thousand kms ago. I've had zero issues with delayed shifts, flaring etc since.
This seems to be a new issue. It's not of major concern, just seems a bit "off".
Do you think the double bump could be the motor mount on top being worn?
Cheers

No, it's a classical low line pressure symptom. Either solenoids are gummed up again, or something else went south in VB.Homebrand wrote:Do you think the double bump could be the motor mount on top being worn?
A year ago I could not make new Rostra solenoids work in my wife's 2002 V70, had to replace the whole valve body.
