Hi,
My beloved Voli has a bad angle gear; my mechanic suggested removing the drive shaft to switch to FWD; I agreed. But the angle gear is still making a clunking noise. I have two questions for you experts out there: (1) how about if I drive it like this with the noise (mechanic advised against it)? Is it likely that the angel gear could just get stipped inside eventually on its own and then not interfere with anything? (2) I read on another post that taking out the angel gear "guts" and use the case to hold the transmission seal in place is an option. Is it really? if so, what would be the most straightforward way to completely disengage the angle gear from the axel but still have it hold the seal in place and support the axel?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
