Follow-up on the gear shift indicator problem

We went to the Annapolis Volvo Service desk and asked the guy behind the counter. He immediately knew what the problem was -bushings. He sold us the 2 bushings ($15 bucks) and xeroxed the page from their big master repair manual so we could fix it ourselves. It required a lift unless we wanted to crawl under the car and try to do it with no light, so we had our mechanic do it. Now it's perfect!
