2000 V40 Go**amn Imobiliser!!!!

So, without warning or any apparent reason the immobiliser in the 2000 V40 is activated. I've read every post I can find online from every forum/board/website and tried everything they recommend, but no start. I've locked and unlocked, with fob and key. I have disconnected the battery and waited overnight, no start. I've tried to set off the alarm and entered by the passenger door, but alarm does not activate. I am stumped and as a mere human cannot figure out what to do next. Can I remove the immobiliser unit from the dash altogether? Can I bypass it somehow? I don't care if the car gets stolen as long as my wife can get to work on Monday........any advice would be greatly appreciated.
