I own a 2001 S80 turbo with 361,000 miles. A long story short, a rod failed and came out the font and back of block. After a lot of thought about what to do, we decided we would try to find a donor engine and swap it. Found a T6 engine in a 2000 S80 with 82,500 miles showing on odometer.
Swapped the engine at a friend shop in Florida. During the swap we replaced the timing belt, idler pulley and tensioner. We used all the wiring from my car, as well as the manifold and ETM. The owner of the donor car said the ETM was bas on his ands needed to be replaced. After the engine swap, the engine ran very well, but we had a few codes which we traced out wand fixed.
Here is the issue I face. After the work was done, I have driven the car back to NC and have put on approximately 1100 miles. Last week, as I was rounding the last curve to my house, the low oil pressure warning message popped up just for a second and once I came out of the curve the warning went away. After I parked the car, I noticed oil dripping from RH underside of underbody basically from engine to rear. Other than the oil leak, the engine seems to run as well or better than the original engine.
I have looked and have noticed oil leaking from behind crank pulley/oil pump and with the timing covers removed, as rev the engine up, there is a mist of oil coming up between the timing gears. I am guessing the oil is either coming from the front cam seals, or is being picked up by the timing belt and is being slung all over the place. The alternator and the AC compressor on the old engine were pretty much covered in oil so we used the ones off the original engine. After we swapped the engine, I drove it around Florida about 80 or so miles, before I set off for NC without any indication of leaks.
I am a shade tree mechanic at best, and am apprehensive to tackle anything to do with the timing, but can not afford to just hand the keys to someone to fix it. I need some advice on how to proceed with the repairs. I have read something that leads me to believe the culprit might be PCV system. How can I check to see if the PCV is working properly?
Any other advice anyone can give will be appreciated.

Heres what to check for the PCV compliments of Robert DIY
Sounds to me like a front cam seal. If that's it then yes it is a doable DIY job but not an easy one...not easy like an oil change. Maybe there is a Robert DIY video or tutorial out there somewhere. It involves taking the cam shaft gear off and timing belt off...etc. which means you got to be careful.

I did the 2 tests Robert talks about. Remove oil dipstick and look for smoke - none. rubber glove over the oil fill. While the glove inflated some, it mostly pulsed and fingers never did inflate. I have replaced the cam seals and found the intake cam seal just kinda hanging there.
Have not run the car yet still trying to decide if I should pull PCV for inspection.
