1999 V70XC Turbo

Hello all

I have built 500+ small block Chevy's in the past, but I'm new to turbo cars, I understand what turbo's do, but my new to me 99 V70 is my first turbo car I've owned.

I have a Bluetooth OBDII adapter and it gives a lot of real time information on what the engine is doing. I noticed that when I'm driving the boost/vacuum is spiky..when accelerating, It will spike up to 14 psi and drop quickly to 8 psi, then tapers off as the car continues to pull...is this normal? The car pulls pretty good for what it is, I know I'm not going to set the pavement on fire with this car, just want some more incite what how Volvo has their turbos setup.
