V40 Brake Light ?

On my last Volvo I had the Brake Light come on due to a module problem. On this V40 I just recently had the light come on but am exeprienceing no problems with brakes such as squealing or not braking. I am at 46000 miles do you recommend getting the brakes done and can the shop reset the light. If it is the module what is the expected cost to replace?
