Hi,this message is for Made in Japan.A few days ago I posted topic about my :Green triangle control light.Today I went to Volvo service. They check for faulty codes, and I got two of them:3-1-4(camshaft position sensor signal absent or faulty and 3-1-5(EVAP system faulty). To me it's sound like :? :? Is there anything I can do(without spending a huge pile of money)and how dengerus is that(if stays unfixed-can this couse more damage) .Thank you,Des

Though I'm not MIJ, I can answer your question. The cam position sensor is the one that needs attention the soonest. If this signal is not received by the ECU, the car will not start or it can stall. Replacement part is rather expensive, but FCP Groton or EEuroParts should have the best price on it.

About the EVAP system code, that is not as critical, but is still something that should be taken care of b/c it should help increase overall efficiency of the engine. Again, FCP Groton and EEuroParts will have the best price.

Both of these parts are very easy to replace and can be done w/ common hand tools. If you need replacement procedure details, feel free to ask.

We don't have the green triangle on U.S. cars that I know of. Have heard that on Canadian cars and those in Europe it means that an 02 sensor is bad. If so, most likely it's your front one. You should get the code for it as well...most likely on low or absent reading on port 1 (port 2 is rear sensor, which usually lasts longer than the front one, or port 1) when you use a scan tool. Hope this helps.
