Any info about B5252S block thickness behind rear main seal or is there some kind of plate?
So my problem is that i was attempting to remove leaking rear main seal with screw trick from B5252S engine, but thing was really stuck so i screwed through it. I though that what if screw goes through something behind so i did it by hands. Then seal came off easily but i noticed that screw actually did make hole in aluminium behind it... hole is only about 1-2 mm deep. i guess block is plenty of thick around there but i don't know if there is some plate or something?
I searched plenty of images from google but wasn't never sure if block is same model...

I didn't measure it before I scrapped an old block but based on memory it was a good 8 or 9 mm thick at that point, over 1/4".

Hi ARRA, welcome to MVS.
I wouldn't worry about 1-2mm in the block. It should be fine.
Here is video of my RMS replacement showing how we used the screw and bent nose pliers to lever out the seal. You need only a very small pilot hole so the screw forces it's way into the seal very tightly for a strong grip. If you begin watching at the 4:10 point it shows the seal removal.

Thanks for the info, i managed to find some other volvo 5 cylinder upper block pics and looks like there is bolt hole just behind it, is it only for bolt or does it also work as oil gallery? It is surprisingly thin wall just at that point

Make sure you use only Volvo OEM seal or Corteco seal.
This job is BIG (9-10h) and you don't want to do it again.
Also, the trans seals should be replaced too.
