Hey-
My v70 has been throwing a P0172 code for a while now. I've been ignoring it, but it's getting cold out and harder to start and I have an emissions test coming up and I'm going to finally fix it. I've read a lot about this error on MVS ( https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=47383) and sure enough my vacuum elbow below the intake manifold had a nice hole in it.
I was going to reroute the hose like in the above post, but I can't for the life of me figure out where that vacuum hose connects to by the throttle body?
I could run a new line to the vacuum tree and plug the disconnected line somehow, but I'd much rather disconnect it and connect the new line in it's place.
Also it's looking like a lot of my vacuum connectors are getting degraded
Does anyone have a part number for these rubber vacuum fittings so I can replace all of them?
Also if I need to remove the upper radiator hose to access the vacuum elbow more easily, is there anything I should watch out for?
Many Thanks!
Jason

also I just found this
https://s3.amazonaws.com/images.matthewsvolvosite.com/vac ... nturbo.jpg
which shows the line...but it's still not clear to me where the Flame Shield PCV is.

Check out this post, it will answer many possible questions:

I agree with your surmisal, your best bet is to replace all of the vacuum lines. Use either rubber or silicone. You don't need to use the finicky little rubber elbows (but you can), you can just replace each path with a new hose of similar diameter.

Awesome!! That helped a bunch. I believe I found the flame shield housing on the v70. My finger is pointing to what I believe is the correct vacuum line in this image
