88 740 Turbo has flame trap filter?...where?!

I only found the lines, which were clogged and cleaned, and the oil trap. Other years and models have specific places for the flame trap filter,but I havent been able to find one on mine.
Anybody?

The oil & flame trap are part of the crankcase ventilation system. I saw clear illustrations of this, with filters, in my Haynes manual. Two lines connect to the top cap of the flame trap. One large diameter hose runs from the induction hose just upstream of the throttle body to the top cap of the flame trap. The second, small diameter hose runs from a port in the intake manifold to the top cap of the flame trap. This cap with the two hoses attached should pull off revealing the filter inside. Using my manual, I was able to find the flame trap on my 740. If you don't have a service manual, I suggest you get one. Let us know whether or not you can find this thing given my verbal description.

Thanks a lot for that description. I've been able to locate all of that except the filter. There is no filter in the tube that connects to the oil trap in my engine. Someone must have bypassed it, thus the reason all the tubes were caked and clogged, and thus the reason I'm leaking oil like crazy: blown seals.
but...
ah-ha, I just found a pic of the filter:

I'll get one and shove it in that tube. Now I just gotta pin-point the leaks and replace the seals (never pressure washed an engine before!).

I just read that the 88 740 turbo wagon does not have an actual filter, but the lines and everything are still there....might still get one for the tube; couldnt hurt.
