G'day from WA, Australia peeps. I've been wanting to replace my T5 fuel pump and am aware that there are 3 different genuine Bosch part numbers: 0 580 453 033, 0 580 453 037 and 0 580 314 067 which seems to be the latest. The thing is, I have been looking at the official Bosch 'site and an eBay au seller stating that Bosch 0 580 314 077-48x is also compatible. My gut tells me that some if not many Bosch part numbers may actually be the same pump, but with different filters and spade connectors in the kit, generating a different part number.
The 077 pump is also listed as compatible with "Astra (a model of Holden in Australia), Vectra (Holden also), Combi & BMW" as per the printing on the dark blue Bosch box in an image.
There is also a table showing different compatibilities: with "Holden Vectra, Peugeot 205, Peugeot 306 & Volvo 850" shown only. Aaaargh !
The pump is stated to measure 96mm x 43mm and the in tank filter different to original.
Any insider tips on cross referencing Bosch numbers ? Thanks in advance
James L., WA

Is the seller here in Moorabin Victoria? If so I have bought his 850 pump to retrofit into a 2001 V70 in-tank pump. The pump was fine however the filter sock included may not be an exact match. The hose clamps included are total rubbish as they stripped out with little torque.

Search Google for "Bosch 69693".
Then search the post by "stephansvolvo".
Basically removing the black casing. It will fit all versions of FWD 1993-2000 or so.
AWD is Walbro, another story.

Seller is based QLD. Filter sock definitely not the same as orig.
My 'original' fuel pump is the 0 580 453 037 and 43mm wide so may not need to remove the black casing.
Was really looking for some 'in the know' info on official Bosch part numbers but thanks for the tips guys none the less, I might buy it but uh, am still a bit worried.

Fuel Pump is not something I mess around using aftermarket parts.
Stick to Bosch and you will be fine for > 150K miles.
Go to Bosch autoparts website and you will see Bosch 69693 fits many of the 5-cylinder engines.

While your post was asking a different question, about if anyone knows details about the Bosch part numbers, the answer to that is we (so far) don't.
I also know OP has only mentioned Bosch and never anything about getting an aftermarket pump, but for the record people have successfully used a variety of aftermarket pumps, e.g. dozens of people have swapped Walbro pumps in to their 850s, as well as other brands. I have always gone with Bosch for new fuel pumps but for peace of mind but you do have other options if it comes to it.
So it will come as no surprise that I also agree with cn90 that the bottom line for your fuel pump replacement is the Bosch 69693 will work great, as will likely others by Bosch. I would go with one of the pumps discussed and not look back. On every fuel pump job I like to get a new, Volvo-branded rubber gasket for the top of the housing unless I know it has been replaced.

@jamesL850,
The 1994-1997 850 and 1998-2000 S70-V70 FWD models use Bosch 69693. A fact that Bosch does not mention publicly but it fits.
See the threads by "stephansvolvo" below:

Walbro is OEM fuel pump for AWD model. Some people use Walbro for FWD model as well. Just watch out for counterfeit when buying Walbro.
Some people report that Walbro is noisier > Bosch.
Anyway, this is another good thread to read re Bosch 69693:

Thanks guys. Yes, I am only interested in the 'insider' Bosch information and have purchased the Bosch 0 580 314 077-48x from the Au seller.
Hoping the sock (long thin rectangle shape) won't hit tank as opposed to the standard 'tomestone' shaped & shorter one supplied with 69693.
The pump motor looks identical to 69693.
My rubber gasket for the top of the housing was/is misshaped with evidence of fuel leakage, visible pinching of the gasket.
