98 s70 wagon cyl 4 misfire

installed new distributor cap and ran it for a while, cyl 4 is squeeky clean while the rest show evidence of spark. any ideas?

If the misfire just showed up at the same time as the cap change, I would look carefully at the #4 plug wire. Make sure it is seated well, make sure the ends are not falling apart. Are they OEM wires with a manufacturing date code?

would the wire cause no spark to come out of the cap at all?

If the wire is not connected for example, or broken, then there would be no spark at all on the #4 plug. Unhook it and put an ohmmeter on the ends, you can see if it is broken.

No misfire before the cap swap?
