I cannot seem to pull up any of the codes from any prior session with the DiCE unplugged.
Does anyone know if connecting the DiCE (with external power applied from a 12-volt supply) will allow me to review codes and the repair solutions away from the car?
I ask because the VIDA program gives one the option of re-reading all modules, and thus deleting prior readings, so I assume that the prior readings are stored.... somewhere. I only have a printer at home, and I'd rather not drag the printer to the storage bay where I work on my car, and do other "shop" work.
From what I can see codes from prior readings of rhe car are not accessible without the DiCE, and the DiCE needs power to run.

1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

I'm not entirely sure, but here's what i usually do.
http://www.cutepdf.com/
download and install that, you'll now have a PDF "Printer"
open up the code report from vida, "print" it to cutePDF, save file to your PC.
now you are free to open it up and print it when you get back to the printer, or email, or send it anywhere you'd like.
I do it because I run VIDA in a virtual machine, and I don't like installing printers in my virtual machines. So the PDF lets me "print" out of VIDA into a shared machine folder on my host, then I can do as I please.
