The driver's door window on my '99 V70 is stuck in the down position. I tried cleaning the switch already to no effect, except possibly damaging the switch in the process. I'm thinking it's the motor since I could hear a click when I tried the switch before I took it apart.
Either way, I'm looking to physically place the glass back in the up position so I can use the car while I'm ordering parts and putting it together. Any thoughts on how to do this? Anyone have a link to a good tutorial on taking it apart and replacing the motor?

Same thing happened to me. However, the drvr window switch cluster was Tango Uniform, not the motor. I pulled it, shorted the contacts to raise the window, then replaced the WSC.
If it's the motor, sounds like you'll have to disengage it from the gear track first in order to raise the window.

Tried shorting the contacts but I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Do you remember how you did it?
Yeah, trying to figure out how to disengage it. There's a plastic access panel in the lower front corner that I opened so I can get to the bottom of the window, but I still haven't figured out what to do next.

There are two wires from the motor to the switch connector.
You can jumper the window motor to power there.
Reverse the polarity to reverse the up and down operation.
The master switch MUST BE UNPLUGGED!!!
These are the power and motor pins for the drivers window:
12 + = Blue - Pin A2
GND = Black - Pin B4
Window Motor = Green - Pin A4
Window Motor = Blue/Green - Pin A3

I'd put my money on the master switch. You can get a cheap replacement from SwitchDoctor for less than $50. I've been using mine for years with no problems. Might as well try it before spending a ton on a motor, and those OEM switches almost inevitably will fail at some point.

None of this seems to be working. I've ordered a new switch but I still think the problem may be elsewhere. In the meantime, is there any way to mechanically crank or pull the window back into place?

Can anyone walk me through how to go about jumping the switch? Assume I'm not terribly savvy when it comes to electronics. I understand which wires are involved but I can't seem to get them to do anything so I feel like I must be doing something wrong.

Yes, the key is on. I just tried again. I was able to successfully short the passenger side window but I got nothing from the driver's side. So I'm feeling like it's something other than the switch.
