Don't laugh: How do I use my auto transmission as "manu

I searched through the owners manual but couldn't find out how.

There's a

manual + and -

printed near the shifting stick but no buttons anywhere (save for the Winter one).

Was this an option or am I missing something?

Feel a bit dumb for buying a car worth over $40K and not knowing enough about its features!

What year, GT or regular tranny?

Tx for asking JRL. It's a 2003 xc with GT.

My wife actually read the manual yesterday (they're good at that kind of thing) and pointed out the information that I missed!!

"Whilst in drive push the stick to the left".
