Rear Speed Sensor

Rear Speed Sensor

My Speedometer stopped working and I have an the orange upshift light flashing. From the threads that I've read, I have narrowed it down to the speed sensor that sits on the back of the rear differential. In order to replace the speed sensor, will I need to take apart the differential or do I simply pull out the old speed sensor and put in the new one?
