vadis to PC

Post by dkopp »

I have installed Vadis on my Notebook PC. Is there a way to attach the computer running Vadis to the car to read the codes.

What type of interface?

better with computers than cars

To much $$ for the interface (try at least $1000 for Volo's, and that's discounted on eBay...maybe someone knows of another one??)...I just use a Equus Innova 3100 to read codes, cross-reference them with several sources on the web and use the software for part #'s and how-to's. You can use your black junction boxes under the hood and get very specific Volvo codes without a code reader and don't need an exteranal one. Still a great piece of software to have.

Some '94's have it...some don't. If you have one, it's under the coin holder under the radio, on the front part of the center console. Let us know if you do...it's pretty rare on a '94, but I've heard of some that have it.

On that old of a model without the port, they would use the black junction boxes under the hood...just as we would. The data from the black boxes are very specific and yeild "volvo information" rather than generic codes which is what you're going to get with a port scan tool anyway. I would personally rather have the boxes than what I have on my S70. Just my $.02's.
