Does anyone like there S60

Post by vanman250 »

I owned a 1993 Volvo 850 and loved the car I drove it for almost 300,000 miles and it was still running great and had very few problems and now I'm looking at a 2001 S60 with a 155,000 miles on it. I know the owner and the car has been taken care of and the price is right. Is this car going to give me the service I got out of my 850. I've seen a lot of complaints about the newer Volvo's.

Same with me!!! I am really liking the way they look and the engine. I am looking at a 2001 T5 with 57K miles. . . . . . still wondering if I should get it.

The car was for my son and he went ahead and bought it. I think it was a good purchase I knew the original owner and they never had any trouble with it. I think it has the same engine as my 850 did and I never had ant trouble with it as a matter of fact I only had the oil changed every 10,000 miles and I now hear story's from my sons now that they are grown that they used to take my 850 put in sport mode and race it so even with teens abusing it I was able to drive it 300,000 miles with no problem and it's probably still out there running strong.

He/she may be from Russia, how's your Russian?
Also, there is a "full stop" at the end of a sentence or statement, however
daft the comment.

I just bought a new s60 and would join a forum that debates punctuation? Too little anger management here for me. :(

To be clear, that was directed at JRL, not Mr. Viper. I meant to say "grammar", not "punctuation".

Come on guys - who cares about puctuation or spelling.

Back to the subject - I just got my '02 S60 AWD and I absolutely love it! I never thought of myself as a "car guy", but this car is fantastic!

Why would you say that?
...and if so, shouldn't he learn proper Engligh and spelling?
As for my Russian, nyet.
Why the heck should I know Russian? You're obviously young but if you remember they were the enemy only 20 short years ago

coming from a guy who doesn't capitalize often, I have to step in and say spelling isn't of high importance.

yea, it bugs me when spelling is crap or someone uses all caps, but it's the nature of message boards. when we get a whole cross section of Volvo owners from 30+ different countries all trying to type in English, there's just going to be some mistakes.

if you're a native English-speaking country user, please try to do your best with your spelling and punctuation, because it's the only way we have to communicate... there is no verbal or visual communication here (except for the relatively few photos).

thanks
Matt
