I have just replaced all the injector seals, spacer washers, top washers and filters in the injectors. Having re-installed the rail I am having doubts that I fitted the locator plate for the injectors into the right slots in the injectors as they feel a little loose and can rotate. I'm fairly certain I have done it right, but there is a nagging doubt! Help!!!

In the attached link the top picture shows the injectors the car has. At the top end there are 2 slots. I currently have the locator plate fitted into the upper slot. The lower slot is not a full 360 degree slot but has only 2 partials. Logically this would not allow the injector to rotate more than a few degrees if they were used, but I don't think you can use those as I think this would move the injector wiring connectors too close to the rail to be able to fit the connector.

If someone could check their car and confirm I got this right I's really appreciate it!!

Many thanks,

Neil.

Hi Neil!

I just checkem my 95 NA with blue injectors and my 96 R with orange injectors: both seem to use the upper groove. They don´t move, but maybe you need to give them time to settle. I think the ones on my R rotated for a bit after Installation. Just be sure to check for fuel odor on your test drive.

I concur, top slot! I have two rails in the parts closet, in both of them the injectors rotate. I didn't check any on the car.

I can got to bed and sleep tonight! I thought it was correct, but I stupidly started to doubt myself, after battling the intake yesterday. Went on, then off, then on, then off, then wouldn't go back on for 3rd time for some reason. All caused by the repair shop that supposedly did the PCV overhaul. Turns out the pipe to the LH end of the intake near cylinder #1, can never have been fitted properly, as they had (as I found out) used a pipe that was too small to fit over the metal pipe on the intake!!

Job isn't help when you have big hands and can't reach that stupid pipe.

Anyway, thanks again, truly appreciated!
