Serpertine Belt is fraying

I had to replace the serp belt twice over the last two weeks.
It is fraying on the inside edge. I thought that after the first time it was just me. I did notice that the forward bolt on the A/C compressor that fallen out. So I replaced the bolt and put on a new belt. The second time it lasted about a week before it happened again. The part of the belt that had broken out was wrapped around the A/C compressor. Help, I do not want to purchase any more belts.
