Silver 2000 V70R, 182k miles. The car is a mostly original survivor. I believe I am the third owner and have had the car for about a year. I bought it last fall for a winter car/errand runner/project.
New parts in the last year include:
Continental winter tires
Rotors, pads, flex hoses on all four corners
Re-man calipers on the fronts
Heater core
Transmission solenoids and cooler hoses
Prop shaft center bearing support bracket
All 4 door speakers and rear tweeters
Blower motor
Cabin air filter
The car comes with an extensive, but incomplete maintenance history from the previous owner. He told me the car was hit in the right front quarter in a parking lot incident. The RF fender was replaced with an OEM part and the front half of the car was resprayed at that time. I do not have paperwork for this repair. The paint is not quite a perfect match, so there is a subtle two-tone effect from front to back. There are a few rust spots on the tailgate and one in the driver’s door jamb. The rear bumper cover is heavily scratched, but salvageable. I blacked out the grilles with Plasti-dip. The lower center grille has gone missing, but replacements are available at IPD.
The leather on the front seats is cracked, but there are no splits or tears. The Alcantara inserts could use a cleaning and the old sweater shaver trick. The rear seats are still in good shape. Some of the plastic bits have gone brittle and are cracked or broken and there are a couple of rattles I haven’t been able to track down. The headliner is dirty and sagging. On the plus side, everything works. A/C blows cold, CD changer works and comes with an extra magazine. Sunroof, lights, power seats/windows/mirrors, even the headlight washer/wipers are all 100%. There is a fifth Satellite wheel with an old Pirelli for a spare.
The SRS light came on after I squirted some WD40 on the driver’s seatbelt retractor, I have not tried to clear it. The rear differential is leaking and there is a bearing noise noticeable driving around town. The engine runs great and still pulls hard when you are in the boost. The car comes with a set of roof rails. I have two keys, but only one fob.
In short, this car isn’t too far gone to be saved and it’s not so nice you would feel bad about modding it. This car was kind of an impulse purchase for me. I bought it because I had never seen one and thought it was quirky and fun. I’ve had my fun with it and now I’m ready for something else. The car is located in Rochester, NY 14624.
