How good are the new Volvo T6 engines?

Post by June »

Just wondering if anyone out there has a new T6 Volvo? The turbo charged and supercharged engine. I am looking at the S90 inscription package T6 All Wheel Drive. I love my 2004 S80 T6 twin charged 6 cylinder engine. I am keeping my 2004 as a second car. I will never part with her. I really like the new features and looks of the S90. This is the first Volvo made since Volvo discontinued the twin charged 6 cylinder engine that I really want one. Really the looks and new features like driving pilot, city safe, etc. I feel hesitant to go to a 4-cylinder twin charged engine. I know it has more horsepower with the new technology of direct injection and a supercharger, but how reliable is it? There is no oil dipstick! That really bothers me as the condition of the oil cannot be seen. I have read that the new direct injection engines have problems with valves with mileage. There just is not much information online about this new technologies reliability. I have never had a disappointing Volvo. I can get the car with T5 turbo engine. Comparing my S80 to this new S90 it seems as different as my first Volvo a 1989 740 GLT to my current 2004 S80 T6. What's your opinion, experience, or feeling on this new Era of Volvos? This twin charged engine I understand is also in other models. The window sticker says the transmission is made in Japan. Are these Transmissions problematic? Thanks
