WTB 2000 V70r auto transmission

Bought the car with a bad tranny. Cant afford to have it rebuilt or to buy new.

Where are you in the US? I can suggest a few places to check depending where you are. I am in Canada and have a spare in my garage (I have a 2000 R with the 5 speed auto). Only thing is I have not had it checked to know if it is good.

If you can let us know where roughly you are located, I can point you to a few places to try.

I live in alaska, so there isnt to many options.

I might be interested in your spare tranny. Are they difficult to test while out of the car?

Your closest option might be Chapman Motors Ltd on Vancouver Island. They are not cheap, but you do have the US$ on your side and they are just down the coast. The guys there have never sold me a bad part yet over 15 years, and I know they had a rear ended R in recently but can't recall the year.

The other place is in California and they are called vandsautodismantlers near Sacramento. They specialise in Volvos and Saabs.
