I my front control arms along with ball joints replaced on my 2008 xc90 3.2 AWD. In addition I had the shop replace my worn cupped tires with a new setup of Mastercraft Couser HSX 235/65/17 tires. The vehicle drives better than it has in along time and at first I was very happy. However on my ride home from the shop between 65-75mph I thought I felt a slight vibration I hadn't noticed prior.
When I parked the car I noticed that the rear wheels had two sets of exterior wheel weights which seemed odd. At that point I started piecing thing together. It seemed to the shop a long time to balance the rear wheels. I could see my car on the lift for a long time with the rear wheels off. This was after I called to see if it was ready and they told me they were almost done hanging the tires. The tires we also not in stock and they had to get them from their warehouse. They shop was closed the next day (Sunday) and now I was left with the suspicion that I got a bad tire that they couldn't quite balance and had no other option to use a different tire.
Well the vehicle was parked on Sunday and then on Monday to and from work I was certain I was feeling a vibration at those same speeds. I took it back to have them balance the tires again. Long story short I've had a few conversation with them and brought it back again to be balanced a 3rd time. I still have a slight vibration albeit only a neurotic person might complain about it. My biggest hang up is the seemingly excessive amount of wheel weights they used. I swapped to the rears to the front and I feel like the vibration followed, but again its minor so I can't be sure. At this point I'm debating bring it back and insisting on new tires, but I'm not sure if I'm being a crazy person. Just looking for a second option.
Sorry for the poorly written write up!

Wheels like these have ( or should ) the weights on the inside of the wheel. These weights can/will mar the wheel and can/will sling off . This much trouble with these tires tell me they are NO good. Get a refund and have them removed. You should know " things do not get better " and this is true with tires. See if you can get a premium brand tire.

Perhaps try having them balanced at another shop? Where the control arms original Volvo parts? Also have a shop checked the front wheel lugs for proper torque, if they don't have the same torque, the brake disks may deform and cause some vibration. If all checks fine, try switching the front tires to the rear, as mainly the front tires cause steering wheel vibration.

Thank you for the replies and you're right gstallons, its not going to get better. I called the shop today and they're going to exchange them for me.
Oragex, I thought about taking them somewhere else to be balance or at least to get a second opinion, but I didn't want to spend the time or money on that. I did switch the rears to the front and the problem seemed to move to the front, although I'm not necessary feeling it through the steering wheel. Regardless I'm taking them back.
